Default 4 point harness safety ?'s

Well car is going to be a DD/ track car. no cage installed. just lookin to have a fun 10 second street car. in a EG chassis

backseats are removed. would it be safe to anchor the eyelid bolt for the 4 point harness to the rear seatbelt mounts the ones right above the gastank?

i know it has to be within so many degree's angled or it could be harmful in a accident.

a harness with out some kind of roll bar is a bad idea. in the rare situation of a rollover or anyway that the roof is comprimised with a regular seatbelt you would be able to lay away from the crushing roof. with a harness your stuck and could get a nice shot on the nugget. if you plan on going that fast to the right thing and get a proper roll bar with a 5 point harness.

i will rarely be taking part in sanctioned events. maybe 1 or 2 a year if that. but i do not want a bar had a friend total his car with roll bar even with padding he got beat up really bad.

more afraid of the roll bar working against me than for me.

You could also leave out the 1 middle strap of the harness. You are still protected from forward/backward movement and your body will fall under the dash in the event the roof crushes in.

Just don't take short cuts bro...How much do you value your life? Just do it the right way the first time...I have a friend that ran his belts like you mentioned got into an accident and broke his collar bone.

i value my life but i am also one that enjoys some convience as well. i dont trust anyone in my area to weld in a cage. no one really mods honda's around here if they do its ricers.

My track is a Joke they allowed some bikes without helmets. cobra replica's with no helmet. several 10/9 second F bodys and stangs with no cages at all.

i would feel much safer with a 4 point over a stock seatbelt. so thats why i want this but dont want a cage. i mean i could fab up a harness bar if it was a MUST. but do not want a full cage.

why ask for our opinion if you are just going to do what you wanted to to begin with?

Why don't you look into a harness bar then? Not that I agree with them but..... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2132114

I don't understand. What is the point of using a 4 point belt if you don't have cage or roll bar?

Stick with the OEM 3 point, the seem to work well.
