Default 93 lude, Dizzy- coils questions

Hey guys,
I have a 93 Lude that I bought that had an H22A swapped into. The car came with an msd blaster coil external.

My dizzy just whent bad and I got a new one, I bought one for a 2.2L vtec motor, put it in and the car wotn start, its like it kinda fires, but doesnt start, I herd kinda poping in the exhaust...

Anyway, I think it may be in the wiring, I see that the + wire on the coil was tapped into a yellow wire, that is also hoiooked to a black/yellow stripe wire.
And the ground (black) wire on coil goes to a Blue wire on the harness.

So the wires may be wrong, plus, are the caps/rotors the same? The cap bolts right up...

Are you sure it was the dizzy that went bad and not the coil.

From what your telling us, it sounds as if the coil wires are spliced together. And that would be done because of an internal coil.

Yes were are int he right firing order,Sir. Plugs look okay, not fouled.
Its like the car ALMOST starts, but doesnt You here Poping in the exhaust. The car spits no check engine codes.
I really think I have the wrong Dizz or something... I bought it for a 2.2L Motor vtec, and it had no internal coil.

So are you still using the MSD coil? Sounds like a wiring problem.

yes still using the MSD coil,

not in the actuall dizzy plugs, but a little down into the harness, by the trans I see a big yellow wire tapped into a black wire with yellow stripe, this is the MSD coils positives wire tapped into these wires, all 3 of them are twisted together.
than there is a blue wire, this goes to coils ground.

C'mon guys Im really stumped and Id like to drive the car.

I dont know too mutch about the prelude, But I assume it came stock with an internal coil.

Im trying to figure out why a yello wire was spliced to a black/yellow wire on the harness and this goes to the + on the external coil.

ok, mabey its not the dizzy, Im preety sure it is, but lets say its not, how to I test to se if shes getting fuel?
Oh wait,m I herd there is wires int he dizzy for fuel ?

Bad pic, but you can see a thick yellow wire connectoed to a blacl/yellow wire, then the external coil + goes to this and blue wire goes to - on coil

and this is up by the dizzy connectors I found 2 wires cut/unused

ok, I need hel here,
Heres what im thinking, the 93 Luide comes with the external coil STOCK, correct?

That would mean I should NOT have had to splice a yellow wire to a black/yellow wire, But I think they were spliced to gether cuz someone originally used an internal coil ?

Make sence, I dont undertsand complelty myself, sO that would mean what I need to unhook the spliced wires?

I would try to return it back to stock if possible. You should be external coil. Your dizzy looks like the right one. I think its the wiring of the msd. Msd is wired with internal coil is it not? So I would chuck the msd (temporarily), get an external h23 coil (they arn't much money used) and change the wiring back to how it was and should be. This would eliminate a lot of unknowns
