SOMEBODY HELP PLEASE!
I have a 89 prelude and I don't know what the problem is with it. It was fine all winter but now it got warm and it has had alot of trouble starting. Also having some trouble firing after stopping at stop signs and such, I thought it might be the plugs and wires because I hadn't changed them yet since I bought it. So I changed them and went to start it...it took me 2 hours to get it to start! It just cranks and cranks but won't fire. I noticed that when the check engine light is on, it does not fire, and when the check engine light is off, its about 50%. I'm more of an expert on older american cars and not so much the foreigners. Please help me, I'm so desperate and have no clue.
i'm not sure if the third gens. have the same problem with the main relay that the fourth gens. do - but that sounds like it could be your culprit.
check for spark and fuel - if there's no fuel then look for your main relay (fuel pump relay) and replace it.
