I know this is a dumb question but I am getting a lot of brake dust on my rims and it is making my rim look really bad. Is there anything I can do to stop this?

It is tough, I have even used brake pads that claimed to give off less dust and it hasn't worked for me. Well you could go back to drums in the rear to help somewhat.

Try Ake Bono Ceramic pads. They produce virtually no dust. But they sacrifice bite for cleanliness. Personally Ill take dirty wheels if it means my car will stop better.
All brake pads create dust - there's no getting around it!
Some dust is worse than others - will even corrode alloy rims.
Some dust is darker or lighter than others - will be more noticeable.
I run Hawk HPS series Ferro-Carbon pads and they're ridiculous on all accounts...
I thing is... I haven't found a pad that works any better on the street, sooo...
Wash your wheels more often - that's my advice!
