i like the way rays lugs look, and although it may deter someone from stealing your rims, won't they just steal the lugs instead if they see it?
You're assuming that someone would go to all the trouble to steal lug nuts, when (a) they're not worth that much, (b) it takes a while to remove 16-20 lug nuts, time in which you could get caught, and (c) lug nuts are not all that noticeable unless someone is looking really closely at your car.
anyone bothering enough to gank something from your car will more than likely try to take the whole damn car, versus putzing around with lugnuts
unless you live in the hood where a hobo could turn around and trade some colored lugnuts for a smoke, or some crack or something.

i would assume $140 for some lugs is pretty dam expensive. it wouldn't take that long to take them off, especially if it was done at night. and yeah some people would be looking closely at my car because i've caught thieves in 2 instances within the past 3 months where they tried to steal my rims. if it hadn't been for my 2-way pager my rims would have been gone. now i just need some extra security. i'm just wondering how u guys out there with expensive lugs not worry about it being stolen.

I think the solution is either to get regular lug nuts or just accept it as one of the costs/risks of dumping a lot of money into a bunch of nuts.
I suppose the same thing could happen if you bought $100 windshield wipers or $75 valve stem covers....etc

You're saying that a thief could sell the used ones for the list price of new ones? Not likely. Not even close.
And if you're talking at night, no one is going to notice the lug nuts at night.
You need to get serious. People aren't going to steal the lug nuts off the car. The whole car, yes. The rims, sometimes. But not the lug nuts.

it's not out of the realm of possibility. and no not sell it at list price but even maybe keep it for themselves. i have had thieves attempt to steal my rims twice before. they had already removed all the lug nuts and were about to take the rims before i caught them. they ran away with the lugs, both times, and i've had to buy new lugs both times.
and im not saying they would go through the trouble of stealing lugs. wat if they were trying to steal my rims only to find it has wheel locks and as "compensation" they steal 12 lugs.
alright anways im just seeing if people who have expensive lugs ever worry about it so that i can see the general consensus. i don't want to argue over moot points.

i beg to differ. they took my ce28's and my rays lugs. the rays lock didn't slow them a bit it seems. i even bought an extra set of of rays locks but hadn't installed them yet. guess it doesn't really matter now...

if they want it, they are going to take it... just to get them...

Then you're agreeing with me. They're not going to steal the lug nuts unless they're stealing the rims too.
