Default Dizzy help on my 94 civic ex...

Ok so ummm...I don't seem to find anything on my dizzy in the haynes manual. So I'm coming here.

Nothing in search either.

I need help inserting my new dizzy. Pictures would be nice.

I got it together and could've sworn I copied exactly how the spark wires were inserted on my old dizzy. (Wrong one...was an LS...made my car jerk like a b****.) Maybe it's different since this is the right dizzy?
I started my car after inserted my new one and it'll turn over and sputter like it's about to go on but doesn't? Why?

Which way do the spark wires go?

Any help would be appreciated.

could be in 180degrees off

or firing order

from right to left cylinder #'s 1-4, firing order is 1342, so on dizzy

3
14
2 starting at 1 and going clockwise

If I spun it 180 wouldn't the plugs be too far away?

So:
Top is 3.
Left is 1.
Right is 4.
Bottom is 2.

Right or wrong?

im saying you may need to sping the dizzy 180, the distance would be fine

correct

P.S. check the firing order first since its easier/faster than spinning the dizzy

You can't put the distributor in wrong. The notch on the distributor either fits or it doesn't, because it's not completely center, it's offset. Here's what the firing order is (this is an H22A, but it's the same for D-series, B-series, H-series, & F-series [probably more]):

Edit: wmac beat me to it

The dizzy will not bolt in if the dizzy rotor is spun 180*, its slotted so it will only go in one way.

I went by the picture. Set it up as:
2 top.
4 left.
1 right.
3 bottom.

Is that right?

It starts up but still bogs. =/

no no no...

Bottom left is 1
Bottom right is 2
Top left is 3
Top right is 4

If you're going by wmac's picture, then it goes like this.

Left (firewall) is 1 (still a bottom left plug)
Top is 3 (still a top left plug)
Right (towards front of car) is 4 (still a top right plug)
Bottom is 2 (still a bottom right plug)

Ok so I guess i had it right the whole time just understood the numbers backwards.

I can get the car started. Sometimes it bogs at start up and sometimes it doesn't.

Also when I drive...it jerks randomly. Is that a dizzy problem? My mechanic said it would stop once I changed it.

Thanks for all the help so far. Putting up with my dumb ?'s.

check all yur grounds. jerking could be a lack of grounding of the head. which can cause u to blow yur dizzy. try loosening the three 12mm bolts a little bit and turning the whole dizzy to see if that helps a little bit. if it does a big difference. ur prolly off a tooth or sumthn on the belt. but make the the wire that goes fro

Which do I look for?
The plugs on the dizzy are to be closest to the wires right?
I'll try turning it again to see if it makes a difference.
Off on the timing belt?

I believe your missing some of your post.

ok listen. u have 3 bolts holding your dizzy on. if u loosen them it gives yur dizzy a little bit of turning play. try turning it and see if it help or makes things worse then report back. and yur ground. should be right above your power steering pump;.
