I searched.....I am trying to find some floormats for 1997 R....My question is what did the 1997's come with? (Gray, Checkerd etc.) Also is it even possible to find some or should I just settle with 00+ floormats?

97 came with checkered. 01 black suck, don't waste your money. Yes you can still obtain a set brand new in the packaging. I don't know who to source them through right now, but if i were in the market for a set i would contact Len.

 

 

97's are checkered like the 98's, but there is a difference. 97's don't have a hole for the **** that holds the floormat in place. You'll be lucky to get 97's, 98's are possible if you wait and you can get the 2000's anytime from Len @ Sons Acura.

 

Yeah there are several listings on Ebay for 00+.

I am trying to keep my 97 as original as possible. I figured it would be damn hard to find them....

Impossible? No. Harder to source than the 01s? Yup. Don't settle for the all black ones. You'll be disappointed, especially since your 97 came with the checkered. You'll find a set.

On a side note... we are raffling off multiple sets of checkered mats at EXPO this year. Oppps...maybe i wasn't supposed to have said that.

The all black are paper thin , i guess for weight ?!? maybe

I have an 00 , and i bought the 01 mats from acura , and i hate them , i want my checkerboard mats ,

And the crap of it all is ,


I was the one who called Sons acura( lens job)
And had someone run the part number on the 2000 checker mats ,
and they had 2 sets ,
then i told Len about it and he got a bunch ,
i diddnt have the cash right then ,
and the few days later he sold out all 30 sets , or whatever he had .

THAT REALLY SUCKS HUH ????

So all of you who have new checker mats can personally thank me at expo ,

( I swear that that is a true story people , it really sucks ***

Ill be the one with a headertech header , and a precision intercooler plumber to nothing

The drivers side floormat that came with my '98 did not have a hole in it.

 

When I bought my R, it only had the front mats. I was thinking about buying a new set. It's a shame the 01 mats are paper thin.

 

The 01 mats aren't that bad, I had them in my 00 and my 98 for over a year and they are still in great condition. I have the black 01, checkered and eudm black mats.

For quality of material
checkered &gt; eudm &gt; 01

For looks
eudm &gt; 01 &gt; checkered

 

Did you get your EDM mats from Jeremy?

True, I got mine still brand new in the box. I'm thinking of selling my checkered sets. I sold my black 01 set this past weekend

No I got them from tartje. Btw is it EDM or EUDM because I seen both used.

Never, not even if you had a rear trunk mat to match.

USDM checkered are by far my favorite, best looking, and best quality.

The only thing i would remove from the checkered mats is the red acura symbol on the passenger side mat.
