96 HX window troubles
I read the FAQ on the window tracks, but I'm not sure a lube will help the window from doing what its doing.
The motor works, the regulator has all the teeth on it. When I try to lower the driver side window, the front part dive bombs into the door, followed shortly thereafter by the rear of the window. It is of course off track at this point. Its annoying. When I raise the window I have to reposition it in the track and then jerk it forward and backward while holding the button. Its embarrassing. The passenger side is also suffering from a mild case of the same problem, but still lifts and lowers on its own (for the most part).
I had the door panel off the driver side and it seemed the scissor part of the regulator was loose, so I tightened up the screw there, and then noticed the front track was loose, so I tightened it as well. Still not solving my problem, any ideas?

Try some adjusting. Most of the bolts that hold the window in can be moved and will make a real difference on the way that the window travels. It could just be a problem with the angle that the window travels. You might be surprised with the difference that some silicone lube will make on the rails as well as the regulator. If all else fails hit up a junkyard and grab replacement everything something could be bent to the point that no tweaking will fix. Do a search cause their are some really helpful threads on this.
