Hey folks. I'm having some issues with my CD Player in my 1997 Civic. I bought an aftermarket unit from Eclipse about 2 years ago. It has worked flawlessly for the most part. A few months ago I noticed I would sometimes have issues with it. I'd start up my car, and the CD Player wouldn't turn on. Then, 5 minutes into my drive, it would suddenly start up, and scan all of the radio stations as if it was the first time it ever turned on. This started happening more frequently, and occasionally the CD Player would turn off while I was driving, and then turn back on a minute later. Now, my CD player hasn't turned on in 4 days. I can't drive without music. Thoughts/suggestions?

 

Yup, get a new CD Player... Check all your wires to make sure none are exposed at all, and if everything is wired up correctly, its your cd player...

Most likely this is just as 1camwonder says, you prob need a new cd player OR your wiring is loose. loose wiring can be one of the "power wires" (aftermarket colors yellow, red or black) or your wires in your cars harness. There's not really much else this could be linked to. It's really simple, either the radio isn't getting power properly or it's broken somewhere internally.

Wires Exposed - Fix'm & Check for affirmation that all is working properly...

Wires Not Exposed - Your Cd Player is fubarred and is in need of replacement...
