Default P06 Chipped ECU Help Needed

I purchased a socketed ECU from a fairly reputable guy online over a year ago. Got a chip for it with a basemap and used an SAFC II to richen it up a bit just incase. Used LM-1 Wideband from Innovate to monitor stuff.

Things ran well for a while then one day while driving along, the ECU went into safety mode. Took it out and put the stock ecu back in and changed the file on the SAFC back to when I had the stock ecu runnin with the 450cc's. Drove it home.

Bought a new basemapped chip for the P06and plugger it back in a few weeks later and it ran fine again for a couple more weeks, then the same thing happened. Code 0 again.

Bought another chip and this time it immediately threw Code 0.

After a couple months of neglecting the P06 I decided to open up the underside of the ecu and found somethign that I think is rather unhealthy.

Please let me know what you professionals think. Is this normal for someones work to look like this after a year or so? Is there much I can do about it?

I have a fair understanding of how to of electronics and I took some electrical classes in college but I've never seen that work over a year later of use and abuse. Any and all suggestion greatly appreciated.

Those solder joints look horrible.

Take the ecu to a local tv repair shop & see if they will clean up the soldering for a few bucks. You may have a cold solder joint or an ecu with faulty hardware.

is it highly possible that those joints being cruddy that it messed up several components of the ECU? Also, Is it slightly possible that the chips I've been using might still be usable? or would that be one of the first things to go if anything? I'm just not to sure. I never thought about a tv repair shop though. Thanks for the advice I'll see if I can find one here in town tomorrow. Thanks so much..

Alrighty peeps. That solved it. I didn know if it was gonna make things worse or better but I just desoldered and resoldered all of the points that were on there and its back in action. Sorry for such a simple solution to such a stupid problem.

THANKS MTBER For an Outside View and Solution.

the main thing is that it's a clean solder job.
Your soldering should look at lot like the factory joints, clean and solid.
It they don't you're likely to have this problem again.

Yep, I agree that this is probably true. I did the best I could to get it to look just like the factory ones. I think the guy I bought it off of used crappy solder or something. I used SilverBearing solder. I dont know if thats good or bad but it sure does look better and hey it works. I am already so happy about that.

One thing that does boggle me though is that I had the two-step Programed in at exactly 3000, After doing this soldering work, it engauges exactly at 4000. I have no ideas as to why and it is just mysterious.
