HELP!! ported head with oversized valves w/ jdm itr pistons??
I have a guy that has a head ported by rs machines w/ oversized valves he cant get info until later tommarow couse he has no paperwork on it! can i use this head with my jdm itr pistons 11:6:1 comp with my sk2 pro 1 cams will i have any problems using oversized valves with these pistons im currently running standard size in the current setup any help would be great!!
Make sure you check v2p and v2v clearances so that when you tune your cam gears you know maximum adjustments you can make before your valves hit each other or the piston.

Do you guys think it would be safe to use this head with my jdm itr pistons? I think I'm at 11:6:1 comp. I also have sk2 pro 1 cams. sk2 does not recommend running over-sized valves with their cams. why? i don't know. i would talk to sk2 or a dealer before going with pro ones.
The Pro Series camshafts feature rather tight valve separation. When used in conjunction with oversized valves, this generates even tighter valve to valve clearances. This is why Skunk2 does not recommend using oversized valves with the Pro Series camshafts. We do not state that you CANNOT use oversized valves, but rather state that we recommend against it.
In addition, ITR pistons have shallow valve pockets cast into the face of the piston. A large performance camshaft with oversized valves and pistons with shallow valve pockets is a recipe for tight valve to piston clearance as well.
Degree in your Pro camshafts, and then carefully check your v2v and p2v clearances. If everything checks out you are good to roll.
