Default Which Spring Compressor should I get?

$39.99

$9.99

Do I need the big one or will the little one do just for taking off and putting on springs?

There should be an auto parts store near you that will let you put a deposit down (usually $30) to borrow a spring compressor. See what you can find. That way, it's free, cause you get the deposit back!! It's not like you'll be using it every time you work on your car.

Alex

p.s. I got mine at AutoZone.

yeah just rent one. cause if u buy one, youll only end up using it a few times. not worth the money. although i think the small one would work fine, stock springs arent in that much pressure on a civic.

**** it dont use a spring compressor!! I never use one and nothing has happened to me. Just let it shoot up against the wall and hope you dont loose any parts.(washer,etc.) Civic springs usally dont have that much pressure behind them and they dont explode and shoot everywhere when you take them apart.

um i would get the upper one.the smaller ones are very scary to use.most part stores only have the small one.ask them if they have the other style.safety first.saving a few bux does not beat saving your fingers or bodily inury.just my .02.

dude...dont get any of them. I have installed probably 10 pair of springs and ive only used the compressor twice. The first 2 times i did it i used the compressor then i was too lazy to go out and rent some so i got some sliding bar clamps out of the building and used them. They were cheap ones....stanley quickgrip i think. I used 2....one on each side. They actually worked better and faster than the compressor. If you have any questions Im me....wildirishboy22 or if you live around the g'boro, HP area in NC you can stop by and i can help you. Wont take too long. Trust me....use the clamps.
