What type of rebuild did you do? All it sounds like is you replaced bearings which take no break in process.

ok rebuild has.

ACL Racing Bearing (rods, main, trustwashers)
NPR Piston rings
Glazed honed block
Arp rod bolts
Arp head studs

Should i Wait or dog it and brake it in???? Ive heard to wait 500 miles and then change the oil and i also heard to dog it and break the piston rings in...

You should do your own research to determine break in periods and engine loads. all bearing and ring manufacturs will supply this information if you contact them. My personal experince is just a ring job you dont have to worry about but with new bearings you need to wait 3k miles or first oil change. the bearings have to go through some warm up cylces and jamin on it to early can spin a bearing or chew the coating off of it real quick. Did you ever figure out your bearing clearance problem, or you just left it the way it was.

Everyone has different break in procedures. But since you did the rings youll have to break in the rings. This is the break in i follow, youll find others online as well or like mentioned call the manufactures and see what they say.

even though it is to late cause you are already running it but .002 is way not enough and in fact the motor probally wouldnt even turn with that clearance but whatever next time you build one need to make sure to stick to oem specks unless told by bearing company. good luck with your motor

hrmm.. its running good. Yea i understand that its to much clearance but when i torque it with the plastiguage i torqued it down in this sequences 1,5 56ft-lb, and 2,3,4, to 49ft-lb if i remember right i torqued them a couple of ft-lb more sence i had an extention.

there are two diffrent part numbers there one is standard and the other one that ends in hx has a extra .001 in oil clearance but if I remember right you were still had a little too much clearance. like i said it just means that the life of the motor wont be as long as it could be. but it will be alright. enjoy it and break it in before you jam on it.
