quick b17 rebuild tips?
I'm going to do a basic rebuild (rings, rod bearings) in my apartment parking lot. My questions are basic, and I do have a Helms. Is there any time saving advice you guys have, so I can get this done in a weekend? In my mind it seems pretty cut and dry. Remove downpipe, head, oilpan, rod caps. Push piston/rod assy out the top, replace rings and bearings, and reverse. And I need to replace the head bolts, rod bolts w/ new ones? I need have all his in advance:
-rod bearings (will a certain color work regardless, w/o using plastigage and then ordering bearings?)
-headgasket
-head bolts
-rod end bolts
-rings
-assembly lube?
anything else? thanks...

i would personally not do a quick overhaul like that. the new piston rings will not seat correctly if you don't get the cylinders deglazed. if your getting the honda bearings i would suggest getting them by the certain color it needs because they are selectively fit. check the bolts to see if they have been streched or damege if they're not, then there is no need to replace. don't use a assembly lube that is moly-based, the lithium grease should work(white), make sure you use the rubber booties that goes over the rod bolts so it doesn't knick the crankpin
