1993 Del Sol SI with original d16z6 amd 5 speed.
Are platinum microtip spark plugs recomended or are the big fat tip copper NGK type supplied by honda the best to use ?

I use ngk's and havnt had a problem. A lot of people use them actually.

 

Sorry, I meant NGK, but platinums are recomended then ?
I read somewheres certain engines dont like the skinny tip plugs, my dodge hemi is like that, preferes the older standard fat tip style.

 

Platinums aren't recommended for this engine. The only thing I see listed for the '93-'95 del SOl Si in the NGK catalog is the NGK V-Power, which happens to be the same thing the D16Y8 uses stock.

 

Thanks NOFX, that explains the wierd missfires when I used the G-power platinums that came with a set of plug cables I just bought. I'll go back to the regular style BKR6EGP (7092) the dealer put in last service.
