Mimi me questions...
I don't know much about Mini me's so bare with me.I searched but didn't find what I was looking for.I have a D15B and as far as I know I can put a D16 head on it...right?I'm not sure if I want to do that but if I can get more hp and a higher redline then I think I will.So heres what I want to know:
1.What heads will fit on my D15B?
2.What all Do I have to do in order to install a D16 head on my engine?
3.Are there any marks on the heads to tell what kind they are?
4.How much hp and what redline will I get by installing a D16 head?
5.Do D16 heads have 1 or 2 vtec solenoids?
6.Will the same ECU for a SOHC vtec work on a DOHC vtec?

The engine might run, but It wouldn't run well.
No DOHC head fits on a D-series engine.
And the DOHC single cam is the ZC from the old SIs.

And next time before you post and say I'm wrong (which I very well could be) have info to back it up and PROVE me wrong. Dont just say I believe or I forget.

First off dont swap the head if the d15b head is in decent condition.
The d16 only has one vtec solenoid
Depending on whether your car is obd1 or obd2 i would go with a z6 if its pre 92-95 if its 96-00 id go with a y8 and you more than likely wont gain any power.
supposedly the d15b has a little more agressive cam so it may even lose power, im not sure if that is true, but it does have its own specific part number, not in other motors.

ok first off the d15b makes the most power out of all the d series motors with a whoppin 130hp
second dont change your head and no you cant put a DOHC head on there
the only DOHC d series are the zc,a1,a3
i say you just turbo the motor you have with the head thats on it and you will be satisfied

1) Virtually all sohc d-series heads fit. DOHC ZC heads with some modification, but have worse powerbands. Yes I said it, and its TRUE.
2) Basicly nothing. However the timing belt should be different.
3) P2P, P28, P08, etc is cast into the head. They correspond with the ecu's usually, but not really. There are easier ways to tell the difference.
4) Probably less, since people CLAIM the D15B cam is bigger.
5) USDM SOHC VTEC heads will always 1 solenoid. ODB2 D15B heads can have 2 due to a 2-stage VTEC design.
6) Yes. There are FAR more P28 ecu's than P30/P72/etc ecu's, but you won't have a knock sensor board (impossible), IAB's (req: hardware mod), or the correct fuel/timing maps (req: chip).
You'll get more from your D15B from doing the opposite - using a D16 bottom end. Technically speaking, a D15B is not a mini-me. Its like a D16Z6/Y8 with a shorter stroke. They have different cranks than a non-vtec D15.
