I found a mouse...
Hey guys, I tried searching but didn't find much on this issue.
My car was in storage over the winter, today I brought it out and started it up.
Everything was running fine, or so I thought...
Three problems I noticed right away:
1) A mouse running out of my engine bay and along my wipers
2) My A/C blows air that smells like a pet store (rodent ****).
3) Small bits of fuzz coming through the vents.
I popped the hood and didn't see anything suspicious, but I know that [freak]er has been living there all winter, and I'm sure he had friends.
I would like to get at my blower to see if there's a nest or whatever. And any other access to my vents.
How do I get at them? I've never done any work on my A/C or heating.
Car is a 1998 Integra GS-R
Thanks to anyone who can help.

lol, that sucks... you're going to have to start by taking off the dash. that'll give you access to the a/c, heater, and blower units. good luck... it's not going to be fun finding all sorts of mice sh*t in there.
my boss at work had the same thing happen with his maxima. he called an exterminator to see if he could spray something in the vents to get rid of the smell. the exterminator explained that once the body of the mouse decomposed the smell would go away, and to wait it out.
long story short it smelled like swamp mixed with a little urine and a side of black ice air freshener for six months. and it still has the faint aroma of mouse terds on a hot summer day.
remove the dash and DO WORK!

Whats reving the car going to do? Pull the dash pull ac/heater box, start by washing it out . That is what i would do. When u pull the dash pull steering wheel makes it ALOT EASYER!!! Let it dry for a few days in the sun.

Most cars you can get to the blower from right under the dash on the pass side. Become a contortionist and lay on your back on the pass side floor and look up under your dash. should see a round plastic piece (maybe 6" in diameter) that has a couple wires going to it (blower motor relay). remove the screws (8mm maybe) to take that out and you can drop the "blower fan" down and more than likely the mouse made a nest in there.
Funny story...right before spidy posted that I decided to drop my glove box to look for a kill switch location and hook up my aux ipod. Started poking around and noticed some dirt/dust falling out from the big black housing. Upon further investigation this is what I found:
View of the interior with glove box out.

Here's where the dirt was falling.

And a closer look...

I don't know if anyone else has this much debris in theirs? I'm thinking this might be the culprit's home.
P.S. on a somber note, I found Mr. Mouse dead in my driveway right behind my car this morning. His right arm was all mangled and hanging off. I forgot to take his picture though, it was a bloody crime scene for sure.

Not a chance, there was sooooooooooo much nesting material. I had to use my dirt devil to suck everything out. Little bastard must have made 200 trips in and out bringing stuff to build his home. I'm just glad there weren't babies in there. After I sucked out 95% of the leaves/twigs/fur/poop, I sprayed lysol disinfectant in there and cranked my vent fans. My girlfriend got in later and said it smelled "chemical-ish" but didn't notice any rodent smells. I guess I'm good to go for now. I think I might put an air freshener in there to keep things smelling decent.
At first I felt bad for the little guy, but after spending my entire saturday afternoon cleaning my car instead of doing other things...I don't care about killing him. I emptied the vacuum bag on his dead body.

I would have gotten it professionally taken care of. It's not healthy to breathe in mouse turd, under any circumstance. I'd say get it done by a professional, you might get charged out the *** but it'll save you from getting sick.
