Well picked up a Civic today, and wondering how to fix a problem with the automatic tranny...
Well I picked up a civic today, and the car is great; 1995, low miles (35k), and easy on the pocket book (6k). This will make a great beater car, however I have one issue. It's an automatic, and it shifts really hard when hitting the next gear (almost seems to hesitate a little). It's not just not as smooth as I would have thought for so little miles. I check with carfax, and it is true...35k miles, and original owner...and the car is beautiful. Just have to fix this little problem first.
Can you guys tell me your thoughts...is it a belt, or should I look at something else? Thanks for your help...

take it to a lube shop and get a trans flush...it might take an additive im not sure..or it might just take straight dexron atf.
Well I bought it from a Jaguar dealership, and they said that they were going to flush the tranny fluid for me before I drove it off the lot. Hopefully that fixes it. Anything else that it might be?
my 98 civic ex with 31k does the same damm thing.....I'll let you know because it goes into the mechanic tomm morning to get looked at...I was told that a tranny flush MIGHT fix it....but not to count on it
yeah well mechanic said that they took it out and drove it and had no problems....

I wouldn't mind rough...but the slight little slip I started getting is a bunch of crap...I dont neutral drop my car, its never been to the trackj or street raced...I drive fast....but I dont beat my car...I only have 31k on the car and now my tranny is going to have problems all of a sudden.... I have to find out how much I can get for my car and then sell it and get a different car...I knew I should have just gotten a manual and delt with learing stick and sitting in traffic to and from work..............
