Default transmission problem (automatic)

when taking off from a start the first and second gears are a little rough and i can feel when they shift throughout the car. When going into second i can hear a minor poping noise on the Passenger front side of the car. Is my automatic slipping on me? i haven't replaced the transmission fluid in about 20k miles. Would that help to temp. correct this problem. or is the transmission in need of replacing. i hope not cause im not spending that kind of money on a automatic.

im also collecting parts now for a auto-5speed swap towards the summer. and a 19t kit. i also have my eyes set on a SOHC engine and tranny for 200 for both; the draw back being that it has 100k miles on them. <<<is it worth the money and is the transmission worth anything now that it has 100k miles on it.

Get a manual??......j/p....someone had to say it.
EDIT: Just flush it MORE than once.....I would say take it off the car and do it but that would be a pItA...

the only way to properly flush an auto is to use pressure because the torque converter will hold a ton of fluid. You will only change about 3 or 4 quarts. I actually am in the process of the trans swap myself + mini-me head swap. The trans costed me way more than I thought it would. Its not just the trans. It's linkage, pedals, clutch master and slave cylander, clutch, flywheel/bolts, shifter......pain in the ****. but its honestly worth it if you do it yourself.
