Default new alternator installed...squealing...is it not tight enough?

just installed an alternator on a friends car and upon startup it was squeeling...i'm was wondering if the belt is not tight enough.....theres also a a bit of a humming noise comming from the power steering pully....i'm thinking that the belt could be to tight on that one though.

thanks for any help.

The AC belt is probably too lose, that's what's causing the squealing. It's really easy to tighten, just have to tighten a bolt.

I think I have the same noise coming from my car, what bolt do I have to tighten?

I'll try to take a picture of the bolt after work. I forget exactly where, but it's not hard to find. It's the tensioner for the belt.
