[FAQ] Lighting
This section of HT is really growing...
And i think its time for it to have an FAQ:

What bulb fits my car?
Follow this guide.
What is a PNP HID Kit?
Plug-and-play, its a "kit" that comes with everything you need to install a HID bulb into your car.
What is a retrofit?
A retrofit, is when you install OEM HID Projectors into a housing that does not have OEM HID Projectors.
What HID Kit should I buy?
The cheapest you can find.
Or buy a kit from a seller with the "best" marketing.
HID Kits do not produce the same output as a retrofit or OEM HID projectors.
Why? Basically because the halogen reflector/projector does not control the hid light as well.

What bulb should I buy?
The only Halgoen bulbs I would ever buy are Osram Nightbreakers or Philips X-Treme Power

If you have 9006/9005 bulbs, look into HIR bulbs.

I have a H4/9003/HB2 HID Kit and it doesn't work!
Check the pins on the connector that goes to the HID Kit.
The image below, is the pin-out of the <u>bulb</u> not the car's harness/pigtail.
H4 Bulbs can be wired two ways:
Positive Triggered
- Common is Ground (negative)
- High & Low Trigger is <FONT COLOR="red">Power (positive)</FONT>
Negative Triggered
- Common is <FONT COLOR="red">Power (positive)</FONT>
- High & Low Trigger is Ground (negative)
Ballasts do not work if you wire them backwards!
Switch the pins according to your car.
If you can't switch the pins on the H4 Connector, because the HID Kit you have has a halogen high beam, just rotate the connector at the ballast.
If you have switched the pins, and it still doesn't work, make a new thread.
