can i make a D16Y7 a 14 sec. all motor???
i have a 97 civic sedan DX, since i dont want to spend so much on a new motor and labor, im planning to keep the DX engine. however i dont want go turbo, supercharge or NOS, i want to make it a D16 all motor. im planning to do a lot of internal engine work and gutting my car in order to make it a 14 sec car. do you guys think its possible for an all motor D16Y7 to run 14s???
without somesorta forced induction d16 all motor wont reach 14's. unless u do somesorta swap/mini-me/hybrid. header, CAI, exhaust/catback alone wont make ur car go 14's.
Get the most aggressive Cam from Web Cam or Gude
Get an Ecu with a Rev limit of about 8500
Get an Upgraded Valve Train with the Cams
A Header
Exhaust
And You should be there, but you might be sitting on a milk crate steering with Vise Grips to get there.

bilthatch has a D16Y7 engine (with a lot of work done to it) and he runs high 13s (with a small shot of nitrous as his sig says).
You'd get more better results swapping in a d16y8 or d16z6. And it would be cheaper, because a lot of work will need to be done to the dx motor.
