Default about the o2 sensor on catalytic converter...

Where does it run up to? I just ordered a new exhaust and header and I'm going to re-use a newER OEM cat that my friend gave me and I figured I might as well change out the o2 sensor on the cat. But I don't know where it runs to after it goes up into the car. I don't see a plug or anything of that nature.

Anyone?

Well my cars sitting on ramps right now in the driveway and I'd like to be able to remove the top part of the heat shield for the cat so it stops rattling like all hell. I figured if I could just unplug the o2 sensor, I can slide the heat shield off. But if not, I'll either cut it off or attempt the remove the 9 year old, 191k mileage o2 sensor :D.

Oohh so the plug is kinda jammed up there and is held in the "hole" by the rubber grommet piece?

I'll go try that now. If it works, thanks .

its better to remove the sensor after you take out the cat.

I'm replacing the cat with another OEM cat that has 100k less miles and is in WAY better condition. I'll be putting on a 4-wire universal o2 sensor once I get the exhaust and header ready to be thrown on.
