Default How do you get the o2 sensor off the cat?

Its 96 integ btw. I have the cat off dangling by the o2 sensor. I cant seem to get it off. Anyone got any tips? Its hard to torque it off with only the car on jack stands...can you disconnect the sensor to remove the cat then remove the sensor?

You have to pull out the rubber grommet where the wire goes up thru the floor of the car; the plug to disconnect is behind that and will come out when you pull the grommet out.

Alright cool I got everything off and the test pipe installed w/ the exhaust repair kit. Anyone know how to get the o2 sensor back into the cabin to tuck away?

LOL....I had this same difficulty. It was getting real dark by the time I dismantled my cat and was trying to unscrew this O2 sensor, and I didn't feel like hooking up a light. I put all my strength with a crescent wrench to try and break it loose, but it didn't budge. I got frustrated and just cut the damn wires, lol. Then after I realized that I could have just unplugged it...I just didn't realize that there was a plug above the rubber grommet. Damn me, oh well...it's fixed now.

Yeah, I remember when I was doing my exhaust/header last year we didn't know there was a o2 sensor in the cat, and wanted to pull it out...so we just disconnected the o2 sensor (unscrewed it) while under the car...hah, oh well...we got it done with little frustration.
