You can do that with any manual car. Completely normal. You can also shift into another gear if you rev match.

yeah, REV matching is an artform. but you need the right vehicle

i had a chevy spectrum...and a chevy S-10 that i could go threw ALL the gears without using the clutch.

i shift at too high of RPMs to even try on the ep3

You only need to clutch when braking if you are coming to a stop or near-stop. Otherwise the motor will stall. Think about it...

As for going from a gear into neutral without the clutch, I do it all the time and have always done it. You sorta need to rev match, but not as much as actually shifting gears clutchless.

Now if you own a DC5, it would do it automatically for you with 2nd and 3rd gear.

yeah, if you want to go FWD, Shiftless... GET A NEW COBALT SS!!!! FTW!

seriously...
"WOT and no-lift shift" allows maximum performance – upshifts can be performed very quickly without lifting the throttle. An algorithm in the engine's controller enables this high-performance feature to shut off the spark to any cylinder, resulting in a small "pop" noise heard between shifts.

....wish mine had that (and the 260 hp turbo'd 2.0!)

anyone looking for a riced out ep3 for about 14K!!!

LOL, nah!

How do you rev match going into neutral? You can let off the throttle, but you sound like you are talking out of your ***. F minus on your report card. Go home.

Nobody said shifting without the clutch is faster. It's definitely slower. You're just an *******.

Give it a little gas when going from a gear into neutral (without using the clutch). Try it out and you'll see what I'm talking about. Often times you can't just stick it into neutral--you need to blip the throttle a little.

After you do so, call yourself a douchebag for talking about stuff you don't know about.
