gas tank?
I have a gas tank leak i want to eighter get fix by the shop or do it myself, anyone ever did this by themselves, with just just a jack and jackstands, how much of a pain in the *** is it. Am i better off letting the shop do it to save myself the headache. I also looked @ the gas lines and MAN O MAN are they rusty near the gas tank, i guess with 189k that's what happens. Anyway if you have done this share your experience.

Are you 100% sure that it is the tank and not the hard lines on top of the gas tank that are leaking?
In my experiences with fuel tank leaks. If your tank itself has rotted out and the lines look old. Your probably looking at a complete fuel tank, fuel pump assembly hard lines, and more than likely new hard lines from the tank forward.
If you feel that you are capable of tackling this job yourself just be aware that all of these things may or may not need to be replaced. Best bet is to get a shop to take a look. Most Shops will probably tell you that the lines will have to be replaced right off the bat. Rather than try to save them.

i'll look at it when i can, well the issue is when i was working on the car the gas tank was full and i lifted it put the front on jackstands and as the rear was tilted was when i got the strong smell of gas, and i see the gas on the bottom of the tank coated and caked under the gas tank. From the outside all looks well but who knows what's inside
, with 189 miles i bet the rust has done it's duty.
