radiator hose for oil passage use
i bought the perfect curved hose for my oil return from turbo to oil pan. fits perfectly, but the material of the hose is like the ones they use in radiator hoses. the man in the shop told me that the hose can handle hot oil. but i dont trust him.hehe he also told me that it is a bypass hose, but it looked like a radiator hose to me, just a smaller version.
can radiator hose withstand hot engine oil temps? im just making sure, i already installed it and used the car for about 25 km and i checked the hose, nothing happened, still in tack and alive.
im just worried that in the near future it would blow up or melt or something. it would be a big hassle.
btw, the color of the hose is black like the oem rad hoses we have on our honda's.
anyone?

that hose might handle some heat but certain rubber hoses dont like prolonged exposure to oil. it might eventually get soft and burst/leak.
try some braided stainless hose specifically made for oil.

i don't know if that hose is oil resistant or not.
i used a high heat oil resistant hose for my oil drain. its made by aeroquip and is blue in color.
i got it from my local industrial/hydraulic supply store.
