AC Problem on 97 Civic DX
I just bought this 97 Civic DX and it comes equipped with AC. The owner converted everything to a 99-00 Center Climate Control and heater blower, etc. So the problem is that the AC isnt working proper whenever i switch it to on. I see that the AC fan turns on whenever i press the AC button but its not blowing cold air but instead warm air? I thought maybe the AC freon was low so i recharge it to the max and still the same thing. Still warm air. Anyone had this problem or know what the problem is?
Is the AC compressor kicking on? If not, trace back on that circuit. If so, check to be sure the damper door is actually going to "cold" instead of hot. Also, if the compressor is running, one of the lines should have sweat on it if it's warm outside.
Yes, make sure the compressor is engaging... If it is, you need to get a manifold gauge set on it to make sure one that theres refrigerant in the system, see if theres a block in the system somewhere, and overcharging can even cause warm air symptoms...
