Default Cracked Ringlands

I just pulled out my motor and noticed I had cracked ringlands on my internally stock jdm b16a. I'm planning to purchase some CP pistons and eagle rods to replace the originals. When installing the aftermarket pistons/rods would I experience this problem ever again? I know the stock cast pistons are weak as hell but I just wanted to make sure that when I complete my bottom end build this problem will never suffice again. My tune was conservative and pretty much dead on for reference.

The ring lands crack due to detonation. Too much timing, too high compression, or boost for the octane being used. If you changed nothing on your tune and simply switched to the "stronger forged pistons" they would eventually also fail all other things being equal. It might take a little longer. You read these internet forums and you think you can run 14:1 compression on pump gas and drive daily or run 20 pounds of boost on 9:1 compression on 91 octane with no problems for 100k miles.

you should call CP and ask them if they recommend using thier pistons for a daily driven street car.
