NRG Hood damper installed on my E
FedEX guy showed up about 45 minutes ago with my package. Unpacked everything and decided that with the few minutes of daylight left I was going to START installing my dampers. So here's a little pictorial of how it went.
This is what she used to look like. Just like 99.999% of the elements out there. Stupid hood prop stick thing. NO MORE SAYS I!!!!!

Thanks to these guys

This is about where it'll end up at when the hood's closed

Floating wrench to the rescue

After the floating wrench did it's thing

It was time to install the shock mounting bracket

This bolt had to come out and was replaced by the other ball joint

New hardware replacing the bolt

Damper hooked up to the new balljoint

Here's what the driver's side looks like all slapped together

That lip had to be bent down a bit to make room for the damper body. Nothing to it since Honda uses metal that's about as thick as soda can metal these days. Some people said that they've used hammers to do this. I just used my hand

Here's the clearance I got. Probably a little overkill, but it works just fine. No hitting at all.

All installed. Took a whopping 20 minutes.

About 3 of those were spent trying to figure out how to get the damn stock hood prop thing off. Notice it's missing from the pic above. No longer need you buddy. Haha

Much cleaner looking now IMO.

FYI, NRG doesn't make a Kit for the Element but with all companies I have noticed they will be willing to make it work since most of the parts are all sorta universal. I spoke with NRG and they just said they can make a kit but they dont sell one...

You're right. The box actually said that it was for an RSX. But looking at how everything went in, you could have sword that the thing was made for the E.

Your correct. I spoke with James and that is the same kit. We can do that kit $140 shipped for anyone.

I got it for 150 and then 25 for shipping to Hawaii. Meh, oh well.
BTW, might want to get rid of the website in your signature. GK put out a post saying that the new owners of H-T frown on that and that they're looking at banning people that do. I think you can find the post stickied in the 92-00 civic forum.
