Default MPFI/OBDI rywire conversion harness problems

Alright, i'm swapping a d16y8 into a friends 89 std. I pulled the engine out of a car about a year ago, did a full tune up and just had it sitting. About two months ago i bought another ef hatch that had a running d16z6 swap in it with a rywire conversion harness. I returned that car to stock and kept all of the mpfi/obdI conversion parts.

Here's the sad part, i cannot remember how to wire it up properly. All i can remember is that i had to swap back a couple of wires at the ecu to make it run dpfi when i took that car back to stock.

I know that i need to swap wires from C1/C2 to B10/B12, but what else do i need to do? Do i need to run any wires into the engine bay? And if so, do they plug into the connector on the passenger side shock tower that has nothing in it?

The car doesn't start currently, just slowly cranks, thats with everything hooked up but no swapping of wires at the ecu.

I know it has to be something simple, but i'm having trouble finding the correct information through rywire's trouble shooting guides. I'm gonna keep working at it, but feel free to chime in.

Thanks.

Here are some pictures.

Here is the unpluged connector on the engine harness, do i run any wires to this connector? and from where?

Is that extra plug for the injectors?

Honestly i cannot remember what the plug is for, im pretty sure that i disconnected it when i returned the car back to dpfi. But i don't know what wires are supposed to be ran to it.

The plug is on the passenger side shock tower.

i recognize blue, red ,and yellow from the injectors but never seen purple, I think they didn't have brown wire so they replaced it with purple. Do you have the male plug for that?

I might still have the male plug somewhere in the garage. Although i vaguely remember that two of the wires came from the ecu, and two went to the map sensor. Does that seem like it would make sense?

However, instead it could be for the injectors. It's been a long day. haha

i think that plug might be for a 4 wire o2 sensor or gsr stuff ex. iab's knock sensor stuff like that. my harness is similar to that and i diddnt have to swap c1 and c2 like ur saying the jumper harness should do that for you i think.

Could be the 4wire o2 sensor, but i doubt it , unless they were lazy to use the right o2 sensor color wires. And It could be knock sensor, but im guessing he is running obd1, so no knock sensor needed there.

The 4-wire o2 sensor is hooked up elsewhere, and there is no knock sensor.

disconnect your injectors and see if they all squirt gas, OR connect a multimeter to each injector and put the car on ignition and see if u get 12 volts on each injector.

Due to the hours i work, i haven't been able to call and or work on this during the day. Because of that, i figured i would try honda-tech first.

Sorry for the title of the post, however, there is no reason for you to believe that i'm trying to "put-down" your product. That is not the case. Not once did i claim that this issue is result of faulty Rywire harness. And don't try and think that this will put a bad mark on your business, because i would like to believe that anyone capable of doing an swap and then shops around for a conversion harness is also capable of reading through this post and determining that it is not a product or Rywire error. No reason for the hostilty.

And for what it's worth, i've never personally seen a faulty Rywire harness. And i've owned a couple.

I think this is a different problem. More like identifying what is what.

This isn't a simple MPFI swap question. I've done a couple now, and i've never ran into this problem.

I'm hoping to get this figured out tonight, i will actually have a decent amount of time set aside to figure it out.

Got it to run late last night. There was a whole heap of problems. Two of the wires went to the dizzy and two went to the injectors. Had battery, starter, dizzy, timing and wiring issues all together. Just kept eliminating things till it ran.

I knew the engine would eventually run, just didn't think it was gonna have all of these problems together.

Once again, there was no issues with the Rywire harness.
