Default changing clutch.. ran into a problem..

I have an 89 jdm B16a swaped into my 91 dx and I am changing the clutch.

so after I got the axles out I took off some sensors and began unbolting the two halves of the trnny.. It was going good untill I found a bolt that is right beind where the passenger side lower control arm meets the frame.. there is almost no clearence between the bolt and the frame..

what can i do?

why are you unbolting the 2 halves of the tranny? have you unbolted the mounts and tried lowering the tranny. you might be able to clear it then.

because: <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by hatcht9x &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">...I am changing the clutch.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

and yea I was going to leave a few bolts in so the tranny would still be in one piece and take the tranny mount off (with a jack supporting the tranny from the bottom) and only lower it an inch or so so I can get the clearence I need ... but I didnt know if that would put stress on the other motor mounts that [freak]'em up in some way?

do you guys think that would be ok?

*thanks for the responce by the way*

Don't unbolt the two halves of the tranny, unless you know how to take it apart, that is a good way to mess it up. There are bolts on the outside of the transmission holding the transmission to the engine. Those are the bolts you want to take out, and don't forget to take the bolts out that are holding in the starter. Unbolt the transmount, support the motor on a piece of wood supported by your jack, and then the trans should pretty much slip right off the input shaft.

the bolts u should be taking out are 17mm and 19mm i think, not the 12mm ... support it under oil pan with wood on jack

I was under the impression that you should never support weight via the oil pan..

you can support the oil pan with a peice of wood and make sure you get the fly wheel resurfaced to avoid clutch slipage

yea I bought a new flywheel when I bought the clutch just because I didnt know what this one would look like when I got it out.

I have a new question tho.. when I began removing the axles I realized that I needed a new passenger side wheel bearing badly.. but I dont know if I can just order one for My DX ... will the axle application be the same?

thanks guys!

Order the wheel bearing for your model hubs!

the axle will fit fine cause you are reusing the same spindle!
