Is there a bolt on my car somewhere that will fit that 10x1.25 threaded hole up near the rear left of the engine, right above the alternator? It's the hole most people stick a bolt in with a chain on it when they hoist the engine out of the bay.
Just wondering if I should go buy a high-strength bolt to fit in there or if something on my car will already fit in there. And yes I will be putting a large, hopefully thick fender washer between the chain and the head of the bolt.
It's a stock B18C1 engine, duhh
<-- Pulling the engine out Saturday morning, hope to have it running again by Monday evening, or possibly even sometime Sunday.

what a coincedence....im pulling my engine out this weekend also.....for the 4'th time
(long story)
anyway i usually pull one of the M10x1.25mm bolts from the a/c compressor bracket at the front of the block and put it in the spot you are talking about. yes use a washer also.
good luck

hmm well I got this metric bolt from Lowe's, not sure what grade it is, though. I may just use the A/C compressor bolt or something.
Also the chains on my engine hoist have thick, flat bars at the end of each chain w/ holes in them (bar is permanently attached to the last chain link, which is welded), so I won't have any problems with the chains rubbing the valve cover.

haha dang all I got done yesterday was getting the engine out, tranny off, and the engine up onto the stand. Now today I'll be putting the new parts on and probably won't get it back into the car till tomorrow. I also have to change the front brakes, the brake MC piston seal, and the pass. side CV axle.
And yeah I'm hurting too.

Well I got the engine back in on Monday and got it running late, after 11 p.m. Runs really well and feels great with the new clutch and fresh GM Synchromesh Friction Modified.
But now I have a big problem of coolant leaking under the dashboard, I think it's because I didn't get the hose clamps on the heater hoses at the firewall back on all the way.
