Default Auto Trans Problem.....

my friends 01 LX sedan wont accelerate unless you mash the gas...acts like it has a stall or something....i checked the fluid and its fine...he's complaining how his car waste gas and he wants to either fix his tranny or convert it to a manual....

This can be many different problems. It can stuck in a high gear, the torque converter can be **** or it could be a problem with the valve body. He should either get it looked at by a pro, or get a new one. Honda auto transmissions are not the strongest in the world as we all know. They wanted to save money and develope their own transmission instead of buying the patent and using a simpson,planetary gearset transmission thats stronger.

agreed! auto trans suck. had mine replaced around 88000 miles. under extended warranty lucky for me. but yea. im about to buy my homies black 01 em2.... manual.yes!!!
