Default springs and coilovers

i'm considering buying one of these, just wanted to see what would be the better buy. and with eitehr of them would i need to get aftermarket shocks too? or could i run them on my stock shocks, and aside from shocks are there any other after market products i would need if i drop the car?

neither. skunk2 products arent known for their quality when it comes to suspension. hell, i wouldnt even buy their exhaust.

you COULD run those springs on stock shocks but expect a shitty ride and worst handling. try to use the RED SEARCH BUTTON on the top of the page next time.

skunk2s suck! you'll be better off with tein s-techs. i think they're $160 shipped. you will only need after market shocks if your oe shocks are blown, otherwise i wouldn't bother unless you track your car. other than shocks, you'd need a camber kit, so that your tires wear evenly. 2 questions....

1. what is your budget?

2. what are you trying to accomplish?

it would be better if you buy some EIBACH SPRINGS they're the best. skunk2 sucks when it comes to suspension. when it comes 2 shocks go with KONIS. thats what i have on my car, i love my suspension!!!!!!!!

i looked into the s-tech springs, those only drop your car about 1.4 or so inches im looking for somewhere between 1.5-2.0 inches

im kinda torn between the koni shocks now, i got 2 people telling me 2 COMPLETELY different thigns about them. :-(

Bis, my budget is around 4 - 500ish for springs and shock, and im not tryin to do alot, nothing too much, tryin to keep it clean, like i said i just put 17's on the civic and it DEF needs to be dropped, and im thinking 1.5-2.0 icnhes in a good drop

what do you guys think about Tanabe Springs?

im just giving you my input. if i could do it all over again, i wouldnt have dropped what i did on koni/GC's. i wouldve gone tein SS's.

as for your budget, you cant get both shocks and springs for that cost and expect it to perform unless theyre used or beat to hell.

my budget was 400 to 500 hundred too. but in the end, i said f that because there are just too many decisions so i picked up some used coilovers. consider the rsx ones as well because those are more available used than the ones made for the em2. i spent an extra 145 over budget but i think it was well worth it.

btw, on the gc/koni. if your doing like a 2 inch drop. you'll be fine. thats a great set up and many people would die for that. freddy runs them.
