are all greddy kits shitty?d heard bad things about the
I had heard bad things about the RSX kit, but never really researched their kits at all. I installed an RX8 kit last weekend and was not at all impressed. They included one oil fitting that was not even close to correct, so I had to wait till monday to get the correct one. The intercooler doesn't really fit. Finally got it running, it overboosted (supposed to be 6.5, saw 8 and immediatly shut down) and now the turbo is pouring oil into the charge pipe. Haven't even driven 10 miles on it yet.
Only thing nice was that the emanage was very shiny.

well my friend just called me and told me it's dead. He had it idling with the hood up, heard a loud popping noise and a puff of smoke came out from near the ignition coils. Now it's only running on the front rotor. this is why I own Honda's.
IMO the only way to deal with OBD2 cars - rip the ecu out and go 100% aftermarket, or incase of Evo/Sti/etc, reflash the ecu with the right software.
As far as the kit goes, if your friend didn't let the oil heat up, he'd be shooting high oil pressure into the chra, which will cook any turbo w/o an oil restrictor. I'm almost guessing its a BB turbo due to the price of the kit, and those definately need oil restrictors.

I owe 2 Honda's and an Rx7. Nothing wrong with rotaries as long they are well looked after and job done right. Just had mine single turbo converted too, awaiting dyno and ECU mapping.

It is a kit, if it needed an oil restrictor, it should have come with it.

the emanage prolly killed one of the coils. Emanage does that a lot on coil-on-plug nissans.
