Default Bad trans or Bad axles????

I just purchased a 95 civic coupe with an h22 swap tonight. The problem is that it makes a hollow clunking noise when you let off the gas, it sounds pretty bad. It is turbo car that has a claimed 396hp to the wheels, and I got one bad Gator axle in the trunk, and one still in the car. Does it sound more likely that it is the trans or the axle?

does the car drive?... the axle could have just popped out.. it will look like it is still in the tranny but it should be completely in.. 2 clicks for the passenger side one!

This doesn't happen to be a white eg Civic coupe, does it? IF so, it's the trans I'm pretty sure. White coupe, H22 turbo, one axle was pulled out for some dumb reason (well, so you couldn't see how the trans was...) I think the wheels were 17" Konigs but I can't remember that for sure.

The car is drivable, I drove it home last night. And yes it is a white coupe, with one factory axle and one Gator axle. He said he just replaced the trans about a week ago.

Problem solved. It was missing both bolts in the Hasport mount at the rear of the engine/trans.

the rear mount isnt neccesary for accords and preludes but when its in the civic there is no front mount from what i understand. period that mount is meant to control torque when put in reverse i would get a good mount. how does the h22 feel in the car like a torque monster let me know. how much did you get it for if you want to to tell
