Question with my EP3
So I was driving my EP3 the other day, and I found a weird thingy.
After I rev ivtec, and when I come to stop, the car would rev on its own around 1500-2500 rpm for a few minutes.
I asked my brother and he said that his car doesnt have a phenomenon like this.
So does anyone know about this??? thanks guyz

could be your idle air control valve, IACV/IAC (search it)
my '02 did that at first, but it got worse and worse, until i finally looked it up and replaced it...
if you have a "long life" air filter (K&N, Injen, etc.) they are "oiled"
this oil will "Gum-up" the mechanism inside the IACV over a long period of time.
you can clean them, and it works wonders for some,
but others say "it does nothing" but it probably wasn't the problem in the first place.
if it throws engine codes, check them in the FAQ's. that's how i pinpointed mine
(but i had to wait for about a month of it doing it before it threw me the check engine light!)
good luck guys, i hope this helped

ah same thing happened to me, before you check to see if its a sensor, follow your throttle cable from the throttle body back, it will run next to the intake, behind the valve cover and across the fire wall toward the drivers side front wheel, the throttle cable gets clipped in at the fire wall to a bracket and also at the vavle cover, unclip the throttle cable and take the car for a ride, if it doesnt happen any more its pinched, also when your car is reving high, put your foot behind the peddle and pull it back, if it backs off and the revs drop you now thats what it is
When u take the throttlebody off to clean the iac do u need to buy a new gasket or not? I've been meaning to do it but i would like to know if i need a new gasket before i pull it off. I have the code for the iac.
