Best launch RPM for 300hp on street tires
Just wondering if any one could share some opinions on what would be a good launch rpm for a 300hp/220tq 99 Si on Azenis 205/50/15. All opinions will be greatly appreaciated.
Welcome to H-T.
Pick a rpm like 5200 and start there.
If the car bogs go higher, if it spins to much go lower.
Now go practice, but do it in a parking lot with on one around, not on the street. That would be dangerous.
That will give you a idea of what it will feel like.
Every car and set up is a little different.
Back in the 70's when I was in the military I went out on one of the back roads on the base and tried different rpm's.
Just be safe and think about what your doing.
That's how most of us do it.
Oh I just noticed your at Edwards. I was stationed at George in the late 70's.
Thanks for serving.

thanks for the tips guys. I'm in Iraq at the moment but I'll be sure to practice when I come back home. I wasn't able to practice to much on my turbo set up because the Los Angeles County Raceway closed last summer. I'm also in Law Enforcement so all my practicing needs be done on the track. Just trying to set the example for the younger racers. Thanks again.
Being that your running a not so good street tire you should launch at 2500 and slowly move in on the gas as the car moves forward. Its a neat little trick to it but with practice you will figure it out. If you got the extra coin try the BFG G-Force tires I used to have great sucess with them with a 345 hp nitrous car second gear was always the bomb.
