Hey. a few months ago my fuel pump went in my 93 si hatch. i had it replaced at a shop my friend own with what was supposed to be an oem pump. Now i usually dont let my car get too much below half before i stop to fill up but with gas the way it is i let it go a little lower than usual between 3/8-1/4 from empty. Well today it was floating between 1/4-3/8 on a flat surface it started spitting like it wasn't getting enough fuel. I let off the gas and let it even back out and a few minutes later the same thing happend. I thought my fuel guage was broken so i pulled into a gas station to fill up and it only took 7.5 gallons to fill it up. I'm so confused by this because its happened once or twice before but i never really paid attention because i know the temp guauge is broken too. But from where it started spitting to fill is exactly where it should be. Anyone have this problem and know whats wrong with it?

 

have you ran any kind of fuel system cleaner through it and do you know if your gettin the right PSI?

 

Only cleaner ive run through it is seafoam. Ill try testing the psi asap. i did notice though that the gas cap was really hard to twist off and when i got it off it made a air escaping kind of noise.
