Default Cleaned my engine bay.....

Hey everyone,
So I bought some castrol Super Clean to clean my engine bay and it didnt turn out so well.I sprayed it on and then rinsed it off and it had like eaten my paint on my valve coverandmy intake which was polished aluminum is now some white colour.
Im pretty pissed cause i asked everyone what they had used and they all said super clean is the best. Now i need to get a new intake and refinish my valve cover. What did you guys use on your engine bays and how did it work?

I've ran into your situation b4. Might be able to save the intake by polishing it, use something like mother's or meguiars metal polish, good rag (or two) and your intake will look better than before. As far as the valve cover goes, if the cover's pretty old, degreasers will eat the wrinkle finish (found that out when I washed mines and it had the wrinkle blue paint). Good time to do the v-cover gaskets and finish stripping and respray the cover.

the only product I have used that will bring the shine back on polished aluminum is Meguiars Hot Rims polish. It is red in color and smells just like RedHots candy. I stress, this is the ONLY thing I have used that worked on my Fluidyne radiator.
Superclean FTW!!!!

Simple green full strength and plain water. That's all you need to clean the engine bay.
