balancing shaft line up marks
On the rear shaft there is a mark on the pulley that lines up with a casting boss;
The front has a notch in the shaft that lines up with pointer on the block face.

You will need to take the screw out from the back of the engine to line it up right. I did the samething on my Accord on the first timing belt change. you need to put a large small diameter bolt/hex key/drill bit through that whole (from taking the bolt out from back of the engine). Turn that rear balance shaft pulley counter clockwise to that mark as shown above and then insert the key in there. The key will go in very deep once you are at the right timing mark. That key will also lock the pulley from moving counter clockwise.
ZMan3000 is right there. Remove the stubby plug bolt on the rear of the block and slide in a 6x100 mm bolt or hex key to lock the rear balance shaft in place. The tool will only slide in when the marks are aligned.
These 2 ^ have never worked for flat rate pay.
When you "turn em to earn em" you can find the un-needed steps and still do the job correctly.
With over 18 years of flat rate fever I know of what I speak.
