mileage difference between l3 si and dx tranny?
I can't stand how high my rpm's are on the highway. I couldnt imagine how bad it would be if i had a "racing" exhaust.
60mph at 3000rpms. 80mph at 4000rpms.
I would see if you could get a tranny shop to put the dx final gear into the si tranny, that is if you do alot of highway driving. I think at 70mph the dx is at 3000rpms or a tad bit more.

so if i do a lot of highway driving i should probably stick with my dx tranny?
how much better is the si performance-wise?

That would be the same as a DX tranny. The Si and DX have identical gears. The only difference is the final drive. If you are that worried about highway rpm's go with an HF 5th gear in the Si tranny. That would put you at about 2600 rpm's at 60 and 3500 at 80.
