drag setup help....
hi i have a 94 accord lx coupe with a turbo h22. the car weighs 3000 with me in it. it put down 300whp@8.3psi but has recently been tuned with s300 up to 10psi with the addition of a 3" electric cutout. i have plans to finally get to the track this season because i have an lsd and axles on the way. anyone have an opinion on wheels and tire setup for the track? should i go slick/radial? and what size wheel or brand should i be looking at? thanks for all the help
I dont know what the "hot setup" now is, but when i ran slicks, I ran a plain old no name brand wheel scratched all to hell 15"X 7" with mickey thompsons ET's size 20 X 8.
I had to run 15"s to clear my larger than stock brakes.
Alot of drag racers seem to like to run the smallest rim they can and more sidewall on the tire. I guess this helps the wrinkle/launch effect?
Now I am planning to run Kosei K1's 15x7.(lightweight and cheap) Not sure on the slick yet...
IMO, Id run a full slick as opposed to a drag radial. I ran better times both 60' and 1/4 mile with this combo than some bfg's drag radials...

Are you going to the track, or to the dragstrip? Because it sounds like you are talking about the dragstrip.
