the older boxes are even more glitchy than the new ones. with the ecu in the car, and the key turned "on" you can just watch the sensors freak out. ive seen them work just fine....but i def. like a little more stability.
Thnx for the answer,
let me see if i got it ,
the 30-1000 is older version and the 30-1040 is newer?
so what ur saying is that i better geth the 1040 right?

What are you guys talking about, "stable"? The software or the hardware? The software is independent of the hardware. I've been running a 30-1000 since 2001 and it's never been "glitchy" or "unstable". The software has come a long way and I just update it at each release. Yes, you are going to see the sensor readings with the key on. The raw TPS Voltage will fluctuate. That's not caused by the EMS, that's what the sensors are putting out. Is that what you are talking about?
Software version is V1.19 now (there's a 1.2 but the update was just for a specific non-Honda application). They've been working on a new software program from scratch. I like it but I'm more familiar with the old software so I'm sticking to that until the new one is out of beta.
The 30-1040 is the newer hardware version. They made the boxes smaller and it has more coil outputs than the original box. If you have a 30-1000 just use that; it's not going to matter. Get a gauge-type wideband controller too.
