Default h23a starting issue

I have a 92 si that sometimes will only start "no fuel" after being ethered for a min or two. sometimes it starts just like it should. I replaced the fuel pump and filter as per someones advice but that still is not it. I am at my wits end and need some insight.

did you read what you posted? I'm gonna bump this in hopes you'll give us more info.

So your saying sometimes it won't fire up? You'll keep cranking but it won't start?

After a day of phone calls to the local honda dealer and some poking around in the car, we found that the Main realy under the dash is clicking and aparantly doing its "thing" when the key is cycled, but the fuel pump is not turning on. It seemed for a while that if you ran the car on ether long enough, it would just kinda turn on the fuel when it felt like it, could be 5 seconds, could be 5 minutes. It also just may have been dumb luck. I ran a test wire directly to the fuel pump from the battery and it does run that way. Honda service guy said maybe a bad ground or wiring, sounds scary. I really think its somthing simple im overlooking, but im really not familiar with these cars so im learning as i go.

Oh. If you ran a jumper wire to your fuel pump (as long as there's not a bad ground) and your pump only works "occasionally", than the pump is faulty.
The ground though could be making poor contact which is the return in the circuit, therefor, if the ground is bad, the pump will work intermittently aswell. Check your grounds for fuel pump. I think it would also be possible to remove the current ground wire at the pump (-) and also jumper a new ground wire to a clean, paint free part on the chasis. With that, and jumpering your 12V (+) positive you should be able to run the pump and see if its the pump, or the wiring.

Sorry if that is not easy to follow, and ask if needed clarification.
