GSR front brakes on EF??? yes i searched
i searched and couldnt find anything but have any of you guys put DC2 knuckles on an ef? i would like to hear some experiences/thoughts
thanks
thanks
That will never work. I attempted to put the jdm 4x114.3 itr front kunckles on my crx and it was way wrong. The shape of the upper part of the knuckle is extremely different from the ef. the top of my tire was cambered out so far I couldn't drop the car back on the ground. Camber kits won't do it either
if most gsr knuckles are abs and thats why then will not work. but i think you can find 94 95 gsr or ls knuckle the will fit on an ef. the key ot that they have to be NON ABS. THJE ABS ONE HAVE A DIFFENT SHAPE TO THEM. i have ls one on my car and it fixes some of you camber depending on how low your car is. theres reallynot much of a diff. between the 2 brakes. i used a 13/15 master cly. from a 4 door civc. hope i was a help

the 94-00 integra uses calipers stamped 17cl14vn w/ 10.3" rotors. from what i've found is that the 94-00 integra knuckles work better on +92 civic. on 88-91 civic/crx knuckle upgrades, use the 90-91 civic ex 4-door or 90-93 integra knuckles for better results w/ camber, alignment & toe. the 90-93 integra knuckles (calipers also stamped 17cl14vn) & the 90-91 civic ex knuckles use bigger calipers & 10.3" front rotors. the 90-91 civic ex 4dr front knuckle is rare & expensive; the 90-93 integra front knuckles are easier & cheaper to find. if you plan on upgrading to integra da knuckles, you'll need to upgrade to a bigger master cylinder when using bigger front calipers since more fluid is required to push the larger piston...which can be found on a 90-91 civic ex 4dr. a 90-93 integra master cylinder & booster can be used as well.
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2140287
you can also keep the stock civic front knuckles and upgrade to an 11" rotor upgrade without having to swap to 90-91 civic ex 4dr or 90-93 integra knuckles. this set-up uses 11" rotors from a prelude re-drilled to 4X100 and cl brake calipers w/ machined brackets. plug and play bolt-on, pm brakeexpert for details...

the itr lug conversion (4X114.3 or 5-lug) can be done on an 88-91 ef civic / crx using 90-93 knuckles. you'll have to press the new hub (4X114.3 or 5-lug) on new 90-93 teg front wheel bearings.

did you end up going 4X114.3?

or did you go back to the 88-91 civic / crx knuckles?

USDM ITR's:
97-01 ALL had the NEW style ABS unit
Next, let go over the differences between the old and new units and why their componants aren't compatible with each other.
OLD units - Were a 3 zone system, which means that it controls the 2 individual front brakes with separate but both of the back brakes are one zone together.
NEW units - Are a 4 zone system, one zone for each corner of the car.
The wiring harnesses are completely different between the 2 units. I can't quite remember which one had the plug with more pins in it, but they do not nor will they connect with each other in any way. In order to switch them out, you will need a complete system, which involves all of the harness and ECU's, etc... You will also need to know how and where certain lines splice into the dash wiring harness. You can not use a JDM wiring harness b/c that puts the ABS ECU right where you car ECU is. If you know USDM integra's, that is the reason why the ABS ECU is put in rear quarter panel area behind the plastics. JDM ITR's have their ECU's in the front kick panels.
Last, is the hardlines. The OLD unit is obviously a lot bigger than the NEW style(that's the reason why 96-97 ITR's never came with HID lights
), so the hardlines will not work with one another. You can either buy new ones for the specific style you are using or have someone bend you some custom ones.

Here is how I made them work on my 88 CRX. I got all the components off (rotors, calipers, caliper brackets, pads, etc.) of the GSR knuckles, then I sold the GSR knuckles and used that money to purchase 90-93 Integra knuckles and swapped the components onto the 90-93 Teg knuckles. The car has been stopping fine for the last 4-5 years with no problems.

the 90-93 DA,94-2001 DC/DB integra(excluding the type-r), 90-91 civic ex, 1996 itr all use the same exact caliper(down to the part#), and same exact size rotor.
My question is why would you buy two diff knuckles and switch parts around when you can buy complete 90-93 DA knuckles and slap them right on without having to swap anything?
And FYI* my 1996 itr front and rears did not have abs. When we put them onto my freinds 98 gsr(equipped with abs) we couldn't hook his abs up because there no threaded holes to bolt down the lines.

JDM ITRs did not have ABS (or at the least, it might have been optional). All USDM ITRs came with ABS, regardless of year.
I am using 90-93 DA knuckles, hubs, rotors on my EF. They work perfectly. The DA arm is about 5mm taller than the EF arm, so alignment differences are negligible (just re-use the EF upper A arm), but I have a camber kit for a more aggressive alignment.
For the rear, I am using '96 DC integra trailing arms and brakes. The integra rear hub is a little larger than the 91 CRX hub with disc brakes, so the rear wheels will stick out like 3/8" to 1/2" more than if you used the CRX parts. Unless you have wide, low offset wheels, you shouldn't rub though.

Just for archive information, 1996 4x114.3 ITR's did have ABS as a factory option. I have the conversion sitting at my apartment with the ABS lines still bolted up but cut -- front and rear

Had an 11inch upgrade using GS-R calipers. On my CRX for 1.5 yrs with no issues. Plus, no redrilling rotors

Holy crap man... mods should be able to take away points for blatantly wrong information. Especially in something that can effect tire wearing and steering characteristics so drastically.
I've used a DA front knuckle and brake assembly for 2 years now w/ brembo blank rotors and hawk pads.... no issues whatsoever.
