Default Extracting broken bolt- using Jb weld Instead of real welding??

One of my bolts which holds down the camshaft broke off. It's almost completely flush with the top of the head. I just read a trick about welding a nut on their and screwing it out. I have no access to a welder so how about JB weld? The bolts are only about 20ft/lbs. Think it's worth the effort to JB Weld a nut on top and try to screw it out?

i honestly don't think it'll work...but doesn't hurt to try....your best bet is an easy out or left handed drill bit...if it was me and that piece doesn't require any seals and all it's purpose is, is to hold down the camshaft...i take a hack saw and put a line in the middle then use a flat headed screwdriver....

i agree with what you said in the first part, but i dont recomend your second suggestion. your best bet would be to get a bolt extractor, left handed drill bit, whatever you want to call it, they are cheap, i paid $3 for my last one i bought. as far as using JB weld, as far as im concerned JB weld is "OK" for some quick fixes when you have nothing else like a small leak. but by all means isnt that strong. you would have about as much luck supergluing the nut on that thing. a few bucks spent on this tool will save you more in time alone in the long run.

I say just take off the other bolt or bolts, depending on what motor it is, that is holding down the cam shaft and just vice grip it and twist.

^^Problem is there is nothing sticking out. It broke so it sits flat with the top of the head. There is absolutely nothing to grip or dremel a slot into. But thanks for the advice guys, I'll be getting it out tonight, whatever it takes.
