Default Need help! stripped bolt. searched

This bolt is stripped to hell. It WILL NOT come out. You can see because of the angle i can't get a drill to it. Sockets, crow's foots, and combos will not work. I've put locking pliers on it and tightened them down as much as they will go and it still won't come out. It's taken 3 days and more than half a can of PB Blaster. Someone please tell me you have an idea.

Can you get a dremel down there?
If so grind each side flat so you can get a wrench on there, or an Adjustable then put a piece of pipe on the end for leverage. That bolt looks pretty mangled.

My local Sears sells special sockets for removing stripped bolts. Other tool stores likely also sell them.

Yes, I've seen the ones packaged in the red box.

Alright. Don't really have much extra cash to pick up a dremel at the moment, so i'm gonna give these a shot. Thanks guys. I'll post how it goes.

Ok. The bolt outs didn't help. Could be because the bolt was so mangled, but it just kept slipping off. I eventually had to go get a dremel and cut/grind it out.

Glad to hear you fixed the problem. If the bolt-out socket slips, you then should try the next size smaller socket. In some cases, you might have to tap the smaller socket on with a hammer.

Thats why you keep metric and standard sockets, standard sockets will generally fit between two metric sockets IE 3/8 is bigger than 9mm and smaller than 10mm (also usually just the right size for severly rusted 10mm bolt heads

Yeah. I think the bolt was too far gone. I tried one lower size, but it wouldn't fit at all. I tried to hammer on the right size, but as you can see i didn't really have much room to work with.
