Default compression issue.. fresh GE rebuild (searched)

just had my B18c1 sleeved, balenced. blueprinted, and assembled by Golden Eagle, i just put everything back together and went to start it and i have spark, fuel, but it wouldnt start, i did a compression test and yielded, 60,60, 25,and 60 WTF?? and it held pressure.. the valves train was redone also but i had a machine shope pressure test them and everything eas fine, the head gasket is new and is on right, i double and triple check timing and each revalution reads perfict TDC so timing is good as far as i can tell(meaning the TDC of the piston, crank pully, and cams are all reading TDC at the same time)info on my set-up

84mm sleeved b18c1
skunk2 valves,springs and retainers.
CTR cams
84mm arias forged pistons
eagle rods (all assembled by Golden Eagle)
oem head gasket (84mm from GE)
new oem type r oil and water pumps
rc 750s injectors
victor x I M

\
any info would be great
keep in mind i did a compression test and the pressue held so im stumped

Considering it's a new motor some air will escape past your rings thats arent seated yet so it will be low but shouldent be that low. What compression pistons did you use ? Try a leak down test maybe your leaking air somewere maybe your valves are slightly bent

sounds like bent valves but without doing a leakdown test who knows.... more than likely its the head... not much that could go wrong with lower end on fresh build especially if ge did the work... bump for GE Sleeves!

Have you done a valve adjustment?

Valve adjustment might make your compresion look low. Also, if the rings haven't seated yet, that would yield low numbers as well.

they are 9:0-1 pistons and literly have only turned over a total of maybe 20 times, im thinking seating issues w/ the rings, maybe ill unhook the ecu, and just turn it over and over to get some seating pressure, then plug it back in, the valves are brand new but they seal perfictly, and seems how the moter has never run on this build, i cant see how they could have bent, any body have this issue efore or heard of it?

do a valve adjustment &

re check your timing belt.

a leakdown test would tell you more about whats goin on.

Did GE do the complete assembly of the engine or did you put the head on it? With numbers THAT low, I'd suspect cam timing issues. Try putting a couple squirts of oil in each cylinder. If the engine has never started it may just be that the cylinder walls are dry (I'm guessing you don't have any piston squirters anymore, right?) Once you get some oil on them, see if the compression comes back where it should.

Before the oil, do cam timing check. Also, a leakdown tester would be the best tool for this job. You would be able to hear where the leakage was coming from without having to spin the engine over.

cam timing is without a doubt, right on.. i checked it several times, so with timing, having plenty of lubrication in the piston rings, and still low compression, im thinking valve adjustment, however the pressure is holding when i did a compression check.. niumbers were, (1-4) 60,60,25ish,60

your rings seat with heat a couple cycles, not just turning the key....

i agree with the valve adjustment issue! seem this many times before! New cams or diff cams in another head... ALWAYS adjust valves on new engine!

um did you really just start a thread about an engine you never even started and complained about the compression? run it first, complain after!
